About
A diagnosis you can check, and a price that does not move
This is an independent shop working built-in Sub-Zero refrigeration on one run of Chicago's north side. Not a call centre, not a franchise, and not affiliated with the manufacturer — which is why the method below is the thing worth reading rather than a badge.
The order it is done in
-
The history, before a panel comes off
Model and serial off the frame, what the cabinet is holding right now measured against what the display claims, and what changed in the week before you rang. A surprising number of these narrow to two candidates on that alone, and it costs nothing but the first ten minutes.
-
Measured, not guessed at
Probe on the shelf, meter on the defrost circuit and the loom, gauges on the sealed system, current draw at the compressor, airflow read at the evaporator. Readings are taken under load rather than at rest, because a cabinet in a warm kitchen can look healthy in the morning and lose the argument by five.
-
One firm price, before anything is ordered
A single figure covering parts and labour, agreed before a part is ordered or a panel goes further. Nothing is replaced on suspicion and the number does not move once you have said yes.
-
Proved on site, then put back properly
The cabinet is brought back to spec while we are still standing there and the readings are shown to you rather than summarised. Panels, grilles and any joinery that came off go back the way they came off — on this stock that part is not a detail.
What is actually being claimed
Short list on purpose. Everything on it is either a certification that exists or a description of how the work is carried out — there are no numbers here, because a statistic nobody has measured is worth less than nothing.
- EPA Section 608 certified for sealed-system work
- Licensed, bonded and insured
- Factory-spec replacement parts only
- One firm price for parts and labour before anything is ordered
- Written diagnosis left with you at the end of the visit
- Workmanship warranty on the repairs we carry out
Licence and insurance details are supplied on request. Registration numbers are not published on this site.
Where the van goes
Four neighbourhoods, kept deliberately tight. A morning call inside them is usually seen the same day; outside them you will get a straight answer on the phone rather than an appointment nobody intends to keep.
Booking
A cabinet that is climbing does not wait for Monday
Dispatch is answered around the clock. An overnight call is logged with the fault, the model and the address, and goes to the front of the next working window rather than into the morning queue.
- The line is answered by a person, not a machine
- On site 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, seven days
- Overnight logs are slotted first, not re-queued
